If there is one thing I love most in this world it is being this girls momma.

Motherhood is life changing. We become stronger, braver and selfless in ways we never thought could possibly happen. Some days seem like they are never ending between the fussing, diaper changes and house work that needs to be done. However, when we look back we wish time would slow down. We wish those little baby cuddles would last a lifetime and those first words would happen over and over again. We blink and wonder how in the world they got so big. You see motherhood is full of emotions. Its full of emotions we can control some days and others we can’t seem to get a hold of. Our amazing husbands stand right next to us in the midst of this chaos. They hold our hands, try helping us even when it is not “good enough” and are incredibly patient. They will never truly understand how we are feeling but try their best to and love us through it all, and for that I am so thankful. No matter how hard we try to prepare for being a mom we just can’t. The amount of love we have for our child/children is indescribable. Being a mom is the most rewarding thing I personally have ever experienced throughout my lifetime. Every tear that is shed and everything I have sacrificed for my sweet girl is worth it all. I can truly look back at this past nine months and tell you I have no regrets in anything I have done as a mother. From holding her for every nap, to picking her up when she is fussing and wants momma, to her still sleeping right next to me in bed, I don’t regret a single thing. I want to encourage you today to stop comparing yourself to other moms or researching what is right or what is wrong on google. I encourage you to follow your motherly instinct and to become the best mom you can be for your child or children. I encourage you to put down your phones and to be present in their lives and to listen to their needs. You are their momma and you know what is best for them. No one else does. We are given this incredible privilege to be their momma so I believe we should take that and do the best we can with it. Even though we celebrate Mother’s Day today, I believe we along with Dads should be celebrated every day. Today is just one day out of the 365 days a year we get to love and raise these precious babies. <32018-05-13_0005.jpg

From the first time I visited Arizona I completely fell in love with everything about the dessert. The neutral tones with a little pop of color here in there and that golden sunset make for the most gorgeous setting. Back in 2016 I met Brinde and Gus during a stylized shoot, here, I attended and fell completely in love with these two. I couldn’t believe how genuinely kind and loving they both were to complete strangers who were giving them a million different directions at once and amongst the chaos they were able to soak in every moment with each other. They are the kind of people when you meet for the first time you feel like you have known her for a lifetime and not to mention their love is incredibly raw whether it is off or on camera. So when I decided at the last minute I wanted to get together a quick stylized shoot while I was there in February I immediately contacted Brinde. Even before deciding to do this session I told myself two years ago after shooting the last stylized shoot with them that someday I would get these two in front of my camera again. So when Brinde contacted me back and said they would do the shoot I then began looking for other vendors available to work with me for the shoot. A piece of me however kept wanting to bring a part of home with me for the shoot so I reached out to my favorite Bridal shop here in Fort Wayne, One Fine Day. Gosh I love not only this bridal shop but every girl who works there! After exchanging a few messages and visiting the shop a few times we decided on the dress I was going to take with me for the shoot. The team at One Fine Day are incredible and if you happen to be looking for a wedding dress there is no doubt in my mind that this is the perfect place for you to go. I myself am not a Bride but the girls put in so much time and effort to make sure we found the perfect dress for this shoot, even after changing my mind a million times (lol). Once the dress was found I then reached out to several florist in the Scottsdale area. I knew I had wanted to keep this shoot simple since it was more of a last minute shoot but having a gorgeous bouquet was something that was incredibly important to me. Dana who owns The Floral Theory, a local florist out of Mesa, contacted me back and was so excited to work with me for the shoot. She was incredible in every way and made sure that the bouquet was everything I had ever dreamed of and more. To all my brides, I can’t emphasis enough how important it is to have an amazing florist! Flowers are SO SO SO important for giving your wedding an elegant and timeliness look. Not only do I use them during your portraits but they are used through out the whole day as well and as a photographer who finds the little details are so important flowers are what put the topping on the cake. So if I had any advice for you it would be to invest in your florist and your flowers! So excited to do more stylized shoots in the near future but until then I hope you all enjoy the hard work all of these amazing vendors put into this shoot. Thank you so much to everyone involved! <3

I also wanted to give a huge shoutout to my amazing husband at Unscripted Visuals who shot video for the shoot! Be on the lookout on his Facebook page for the final product!

I still can’t believe I am writing this post. This was my last wedding before baby Emerson arrives! As soon as I found out I was pregnant I contacted Kelsey just to let her know that I was due 3 weeks after her wedding, and her response could not have been sweeter! Instead of being worried about how my pregnancy would affect my ability to photograph their wedding she was BEYOND excited for us! I explained to her that I would be hiring a second shooter to come with me, just as a backup and of course because it just made the day way easier on me physically, and her response was ” no matter what happens, I trust you 100% so please do not worry about anything.” Talk about a dream bride! It was such a relief to know that she trusted me with her day no matter what happened and I couldn’t have been more thankful for that! Not only was Kelsey amazing but I can’t thank my second shooter and one of my very best friends, Nicole, for all she did that day! From carrying my equipment to running around to get shots I didn’t even ask her to get, she took a huge amount of stress off this big pregnant ladies day. I will forever be grateful for your friendship and faithfulness, Cole. Love you tons!

The little details Kelsey worked so hard on was just one thing I loved about Korey and Kelsey’s day! Korey is truly one of the most patient grooms that I have ever worked with. Their day was not only hot but extremely humid and even though Korey, as most men would agree, didn’t love standing outside for over an hour for pictures he never once complained because he knew just how important they were to Kelsey. I feel like so many times these small sacrifices go unnoticed amongst all of the wedding day chaos and I certainly loved seeing this first hand as I walked side by side with them on their day!

What a blessing it was to witness the amazing love Kelsey and Korey have for one another and to have the honor to capture it as well! I hope you guys are loving your time in Cancun this week and soaking in all the sun, drinks and relaxation you can get! I am so incredibly excited to not only show you and all of your friends and family this blog post but to show you your whole gallery once you get home! I loved every moment spent with you both and am so thankful to have you both as a part of my life<3

There are some moments during weddings that just stop you in your tracks. It’s moments like this that make you have such a deeper love and respect for the people you’re severing. Doug and Abigail are one of a kind. These two have such a deep love for not only one another but for every person in their lives. Not a moment went by during the day that there wasn’t a happy tear shed. I can honestly say in all of the years I have been a wedding photographer I have never experienced the kind of love I did at their wedding.

They especially hold a special place in my heart as they are good friends of Luke and I’s. From the moment I met these two, I knew they would forever be friends of ours. Abigail is truly the sweetest girl I have ever became friends with. As many of you know I shot this wedding at 36 weeks pregnant. Since life is crazy busy we had not seen these two since last November, so neither one of them had seen Luke or I since we had found out we were pregnant. You guys on her wedding day, and also running very behind Abigail walked into the hotel room, walked straight up to me with the biggest smile on her face and asked me how I was doing. She then started crying because she couldn’t believe how “beautiful” I was with my baby bump. This is just a small example of how incredible this girl really is and how big of a heart she has!

Doug and Abigail are two of the sweetest souls. They had every reason to be overwhelmed with several things that were not going as planned on their day… one being everything running very behind schedule, but not a moment went by were there wasn’t a smile on their faces! They didn’t let the little hiccups steal their joy and happiness one the best day of their lives!

They were married at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church here in Fort Wayne, IN where they had the most beautiful mass! At one point Doug reached up and wiped a tear from Abigail’s face as she read her vows to him. It was like there was no one else in the chapel except him and his bride. We then jumped on the Trolley to do some portraits around town and to stop at Deer Park Pub, a bar that holds a very special place in both of their hearts where many of their nights were spent together. We then headed to the reception at Orchard Ridge Country Club, were the rest of the evening was spent laughing, loving and dancing the night away! Soon Doug and Abigail will be off on to Hawaii for their honeymoon, and I am so excited to share this post with them before they leave!!! Doug and Abby, I you guys so very much and I am so thankful I was able to witness your incredible day and am honored you asked me to be a part of it as well! <32017-07-24_0004.jpg

When I walked into the room I heard one of the bridesmaids say ” Ellise, you are the calmest bride I have ever seen”, and the entire day went just as smoothly! Ellise and Jason are two of the sweetest most kind people I have met to date and were such a dream to shoot! Literally every time these two looked into each others eyes they couldn’t stop smiling from ear to ear. There wasn’t a second of their day that was chaotic or stressful and not a moment went by that everyone didn’t have smiles on their faces!

Ellise planned their day so perfectly. Every detail was simple, with a touch of color and it was all so stunning! It was such an honor to be the one to capture their beautiful moments and gorgeous details. Jason and Ellise I hope you had an absolutely incredible time on your honeymoon and I wish you the safest travels home! Thank you for allowing me the honor of being a part of your wedding day!!!! So much love to you both <32017-06-22_0002.jpg
