I still can’t believe I am writing this post. This was my last wedding before baby Emerson arrives! As soon as I found out I was pregnant I contacted Kelsey just to let her know that I was due 3 weeks after her wedding, and her response could not have been sweeter! Instead of being worried about how my pregnancy would affect my ability to photograph their wedding she was BEYOND excited for us! I explained to her that I would be hiring a second shooter to come with me, just as a backup and of course because it just made the day way easier on me physically, and her response was ” no matter what happens, I trust you 100% so please do not worry about anything.” Talk about a dream bride! It was such a relief to know that she trusted me with her day no matter what happened and I couldn’t have been more thankful for that! Not only was Kelsey amazing but I can’t thank my second shooter and one of my very best friends, Nicole, for all she did that day! From carrying my equipment to running around to get shots I didn’t even ask her to get, she took a huge amount of stress off this big pregnant ladies day. I will forever be grateful for your friendship and faithfulness, Cole. Love you tons!
The little details Kelsey worked so hard on was just one thing I loved about Korey and Kelsey’s day! Korey is truly one of the most patient grooms that I have ever worked with. Their day was not only hot but extremely humid and even though Korey, as most men would agree, didn’t love standing outside for over an hour for pictures he never once complained because he knew just how important they were to Kelsey. I feel like so many times these small sacrifices go unnoticed amongst all of the wedding day chaos and I certainly loved seeing this first hand as I walked side by side with them on their day!
What a blessing it was to witness the amazing love Kelsey and Korey have for one another and to have the honor to capture it as well! I hope you guys are loving your time in Cancun this week and soaking in all the sun, drinks and relaxation you can get! I am so incredibly excited to not only show you and all of your friends and family this blog post but to show you your whole gallery once you get home! I loved every moment spent with you both and am so thankful to have you both as a part of my life<3
There are some moments during weddings that just stop you in your tracks. It’s moments like this that make you have such a deeper love and respect for the people you’re severing. Doug and Abigail are one of a kind. These two have such a deep love for not only one another but for every person in their lives. Not a moment went by during the day that there wasn’t a happy tear shed. I can honestly say in all of the years I have been a wedding photographer I have never experienced the kind of love I did at their wedding.
They especially hold a special place in my heart as they are good friends of Luke and I’s. From the moment I met these two, I knew they would forever be friends of ours. Abigail is truly the sweetest girl I have ever became friends with. As many of you know I shot this wedding at 36 weeks pregnant. Since life is crazy busy we had not seen these two since last November, so neither one of them had seen Luke or I since we had found out we were pregnant. You guys on her wedding day, and also running very behind Abigail walked into the hotel room, walked straight up to me with the biggest smile on her face and asked me how I was doing. She then started crying because she couldn’t believe how “beautiful” I was with my baby bump. This is just a small example of how incredible this girl really is and how big of a heart she has!
Doug and Abigail are two of the sweetest souls. They had every reason to be overwhelmed with several things that were not going as planned on their day… one being everything running very behind schedule, but not a moment went by were there wasn’t a smile on their faces! They didn’t let the little hiccups steal their joy and happiness one the best day of their lives!
They were married at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church here in Fort Wayne, IN where they had the most beautiful mass! At one point Doug reached up and wiped a tear from Abigail’s face as she read her vows to him. It was like there was no one else in the chapel except him and his bride. We then jumped on the Trolley to do some portraits around town and to stop at Deer Park Pub, a bar that holds a very special place in both of their hearts where many of their nights were spent together. We then headed to the reception at Orchard Ridge Country Club, were the rest of the evening was spent laughing, loving and dancing the night away! Soon Doug and Abigail will be off on to Hawaii for their honeymoon, and I am so excited to share this post with them before they leave!!! Doug and Abby, I you guys so very much and I am so thankful I was able to witness your incredible day and am honored you asked me to be a part of it as well! <3
